Collective Summer Haul

Over the last little while I've bought quite a few things (to my bank accounts displeasure), but I thought you might enjoy seeing what I got.
Image from Swatch and Learn Blog
Though I haven't received it yet, I recently ordered a bottle of Nubar Reclaim over amazon. I can't wait to paint my nails in this shade! Holographic green!

Also in the mail hopefully to make its way to me soon (Stupid Canadian Postal Strike!!!!) is a huge order of pigment pressing pans and pressing medium from the Body Needs website.

I also needed a new bottle of my cleanser from Murad (Clarifying Cleanser- my full review here) as I accidently left my half full bottle at my cottage. So I bought a new one at Sephora and also received a free sample of DDF's Advanced Eye Firming Concentrate which I gave to my mom.

I also bought 2 tubes of Jack Black's Lemon and Chamomile (SPF 25) lip balm- which is amazing! I have one and the other I gave to my grandmother who has a difficult time with her skin. She really likes it too! You can see my full review on this product here!
Also from Jack Black (and for my Dad for father's day) was the Pure Clean Daily Facial Cleanser, a cleanser designed to help with shaving and sensitive clog prone skin- which my dad has. He seems to like it, I keep trying to get more details out of him than that so I can write a review, but that doesn't seem to be happening all that easily. Oh well it's natural and he likes it so that is good at least!
I also bought an empty Mac palette to hold pressed eyeshadows and received my 500 point Sephora gift which was the best I've ever received a Too Faced 8 eyeshadow palette and mini Too Faced Shadow Insurance. It has a magnetic closure and has super pigmented shadows inside! I'm so pleased with it that I got excited and did swatches for you all. (Plus I've got a shot of the inside of the Mac palette for anyone interested).
Two shadows from each of the palettes from Too Faced

Two shadows from the Natural Eye kit- Heaven and Push-Up

Two Shadows from the Smoky Eye Kit- Silver Spoon and Smolder
Two shadows from the Naked Eye kit- Satin Sheets and Like a Virgin

Two shadows from the Romantic Eye kit- Honeymoon and Ever After

First Column T-B: Honeymoon, Satin Sheets, Silver Spoon, Heaven (looks invisible but is actually there just skin coloured)
Second Column T-B: Ever After, Like a Virgin, Smolder, Push-Up
Same order as above

I also got a Fruits and Passion Argan Body Butter as it was on sale for $10 CND. Their hand cream with Argan oil is really good so I'm hoping for results from this too! (Argan Hand cream review is scheduled to show up soonish).

The last time we were at the cottage it was raining as we were trying to get home and my poor little dog got quite wet and cold. Despite trying to keep him warm and drying him off as soon as possible he was shivering for about half an hour and so we ordered him this rain coat. It has a warm fleece lining that wicks water away from his skin and a nylon water repellent outside. It velcros on and even has a little collar to keep his neck warm. On top of that it's really well made and has a reflective strip that reflects light so we can see him better at night. I purchased it online at Gear 4 Dogs, a great easy to order from West Coast Canadian company. They have lots of colours and sizes available too!

I also bought some clothes though only the new shirt is pictured here. I love the colour of this shirt and the ruffles are really pretty on. I also recently bought a black sundress with little red and white flowers on it and a brown flowy tank-top but my photos have gone missing for these items and due to major packing we've been doing the clothing has disappeared so I can't conveniently take another photo for you. Sorry!

Last but not least I bought two little figurines. They're both hand-made in Uruguay and I just adore them! A chubby little Zebra and a sweet little Elephant! They'll fit perfectly with all the stuff I brought back with me from Tanzania when I went last year.

Phew! Sorry this post was so long, but I hoped you enjoyed it. Have any of you hauled lately?

Lemming List!

It's been awhile since I've done a lemming list! These are things I'm currently lusting after, and might be of interest to you too, or if you already own it I'd love to hear what you think about it! It's lists like these that occur after hectic weeks like the one I just had!

1. Nubar Reclaim- Green Holographic polish (vegan too!)
Image from bynubar website
Green is my favourite colour and this one is awesome! What isn't there to like about grass green holographic polish? So beautiful, I just wish Nubar was easier to purchase here in Canada!

2. Chantecaille Turtle Eyeshadow Palette

Eye Shadow by Chantecaille at ShopStyle
A stunning eyeshadow palette and part of the proceeds go towards helping Sea Turtles! I love the colours too. Chantecaille has blow themselves away yet again!

3. BB Couture polish in Dragon's Breath
(Image from BB Couture site)
Dragon's Breath- Purple Glitter Jelly, Check out Varnish Vixen's Swatch here!

4. Rescue Beauty Lounge Polishes- Anne, Catherine of Aragon and Catherine Howard
Anne- Image from Rescue Beauty Lounge website

Catherine Howard- Image from Rescue Beauty Lounge

Catherine of Aragon- Image from Rescue Beauty Lounge Website
These were released by Rescue Beauty Lounge as part of the Real Housewives of Tudor Dynasty collection and I've fallen in love with all three of these expensive ladies! Look at the stunning shimmer though! *Drool*

5. Urban Decay Revolver Matte Eyeshadow
Urban Decay has decided to discontinue this! WHY!? I was just going to take the plunge and buy it and *wham* my Sephora doesn't carry it anymore and there isn't any left in stock! It's such a smooth, pigmented light grey with a matte finish! Do you know how difficult it is to find a matte light grey that doesn't run warm/brown?

6. Clarins Eye Contour SPF 30

Eyes Fine Lines & Wrinkles by Clarins at ShopStyle
I got a small sample of this a week or so ago and wow, is this a great product! Expensive, but you only need the littlest amount and it doesn't sting, irritate my eyes, or feel greasy! It absorbs in and actually primes my under eye area wonderfully, making my concealer go on nicer! I really want a full size of this.

7. BB Couture Nail Polish in Michael and Eve (Both from the Infamous Lovers collection)

A shout out to Mary at the Body and Soul Beauty Blog, thanks so much for the permission to use your photos, they're stunning! Definitely take the time to check her blog out, her polish swatches are fantastic! And aren't these two great? I love the murkiness of both of these, and the shimmer is great in them. These could satisfy my RBL craving from above. Or you know I could have all 5....

That's it for now! I'm sure I've missed somethings but I'll save them for next time! What do you think> Any of these items you're interested in too?

Inspirational Photos!

Photo from Bored Panda
It's been a while since I've done one of these posts, but I got an e-mail about this today and I thought I should share, because it's awesome! Lipstick Animals! An adorable idea by a USA resident named Paige Thompson. You can check out her many different animals (and their different expression!) here at Paige Thompson Lip Animals (and other make-up art!). Definetly worth a look as they're quite cute! She also has some other interesting make-up looks and photos too!

10 Things to be Thankful For

I'm celebrating Thanksgiving today here in Canada and because it's the 10th month and the tenth year and the tenth day, I figured I needed 10 things to be thankful for.

1) Surprise rainbows! I literally looked up and saw a huge rainbow out my window the other day. Rainbows are a small miracle in my opinion and something I'm definitely thankful for!

2) My little gerbils Merlin (blonde one on the bottom), and Rowan (Brown one on top). These guys are my babies! They're also brothers and they entertain me endlessly with their antics, running around, jumping on each other, hiding food.  They keep me company in my little dorm room at university, and they're soft and friendly, I'm so happy these guys are in my life.
3 & 4) Bright nail polish colours and flowers. Seriously, a life without colour would be miserable.
5) Eco friendly and cruelty-free brushes that are super soft, work and clean well and are CHEAP! Seriously one of my best finds ever was Ecotools brushes. I'm so glad for these they help cosmetic application majorly! (Above is a kit I saw in Zellars, with a bamboo jar)

6) Family. Without my family I don't know how I'd get through the day.

7) Internet! Seriously, I was on that safari and it felt like I was missing a limb without my internet! Such a massive amount of knowledge, pictures, games, and of course blogs! Yay!

8) Foundation. Specifically Estee Lauder Double Wear. Thank-you for a long wear foundation to make me look human again during bad skin days.

9) Acne cleansers, treatments and my Clarisonic Mia! Seriously from nightmare to manageable I am so glad everyday that I have skincare available!

10) Novels! I love reading alllllll the time. Without books my life would be lesser. I learn so much from reading and am I always entertained at the very least!

That's everything! Tell me some things you're thankful for! :D

Cute Purses! (From Duty Free)

During my small pop across the border this week, I stopped at Duty Free. There they had the most adorable purses for sale at reasonable prices (around $50). Amliya is the brand name and I went a little crazy and had people laughing at me while I took pictures with my iphone.

I love this carriage one, it reminds me of Cinderella's ride to the ball! I also like the neat sort of animal print all over the outside.
And for those of you who love shoes, this one comes with a heel and rhinestones galore! (Not to mention the red leather and actual sole on the bag!)

These two tigers totally blew me away! I particularly love how they have their paws crossed under their chins, and the detailed yellow eyes.
I actually cooed when I saw this. I have a grandmother who adores owls and I instantly thought of her when I saw this. The detail work on this is exquisite- up to and including the ear tufts! Really wonderful.
I don't know why but the snail was one of my favourites! If I bought one, and I was tempted, it may have been the snail. I just think the little antenna are adorable, plus I loved the pattern they chose for its shell. To me the shell makes a perfect carrying compartment because it's the snails home anyway! :D

Pink Poodles anyone? All you'd need is the poodle skirt and you'd have an entire fashion statement going! I particularly love the eye lashes, they give this whole posh, french cafe chic feel.
The bee had wings that actually lifted up so you could flap them! And both the Indian elephant and the bee had these lovely iridescent eyes. I love them both, the many textures are awesome! And finally last but not least we have:

The Black leather sausage dog, and
The Pug purse, perfect for those who like purse dogs, but are allergic so you can have a dog purse, lol. At first glance you would think this little guy is real!

So what do you think? Cute right? These are so up my alley with adorable animals as fashion statements!

Here are a couple other pictures from my trip if you're interested (it wasn't that exciting a trip, the purses where the highlight, well them and the tax free Christina mall in Delaware- bleh business trips):
Neat, courtyard art in the Christiana Mall in Delaware (no sales tax, whoot!)
I loved the pattern of the fabric for the dress of this jewelry display.  The cart girl looked at me like I was crazy when I asked her if I could take a picture.
One of the prettier stretches of highway. (I was almost loony with boredom at the time, so I started taking iphone pictures :P)
And another....
And finally my turquoise toe nails. :D
Hope you enjoyed!
