Sephora for OPI Safari Luxe Collection

New out for Summer is Sephora's by OPI Safari Luxe Collection, a set of polishes designed after a Safari- which to me is super cool, as I was lucky enough to go on a safari as part of my zoology major. One of the best experiences of my life! Anyways, enough about me, onto the collection!

Included in the collection are 6 polishes, and 3 animal print themed nail sticker sheets. They cost $9.50 USD for the polish, and $15 USD for a nail sticker package. 

First up and my favourite of the collection is Caught with my Khakis Down. A rather unfortunate name, but a lovely colour. I own a Safari hat in this shade, and some shorts.... Right, no reminiscing! It's a greyed sage green cream shade, which I think is chic and modern without being bright. Work suitable comes to mind.

Next, is a similar shade to the first only a little lighter and with a shimmer finish. A Color That Can't Be Tamed is a pretty less sedate alternative to Caught with my Khakis Down.

Hate to break it to the OPI people but there is no purple this shade in the Serengeti. Or really any colour close to this. Named I Don't Bite, this is a medium to dark shimmery purple shade.

Another shimmery colour, this lovely orange is called Once a Cheetah Always a Cheetah. This name makes me giggle, and the colour is quite pretty. I think of course everyone could wear it but that it would look particularly stunning on those with dark skin. For a look at the shade The Polish Aholic has a swatch (and comparison to a similar Zoya shade) in the link above. 

Wild About Shimmer is up next, a light champagne (with a pink tinge). As stated in the name this one is shimmery, but also quite sheer.

Last of the polishes is Don't Feed the Hand Models. Personally I think they could have come up with a better name, but such is life. This is a medium to dark nude pinky taupe shade with a cream finish.

Finally, we have the nail stickers. These you press onto you nail and then trim to fit. There are three patterns in this collection, but I've included the Tiger print in the images above as it is the other animal print offered by Sephora. From top to bottom we have the Giraffe, Leopard, Zebra Leopard mix and then finally the odd man out the Tiger.

Cute Purses! (From Duty Free)

During my small pop across the border this week, I stopped at Duty Free. There they had the most adorable purses for sale at reasonable prices (around $50). Amliya is the brand name and I went a little crazy and had people laughing at me while I took pictures with my iphone. 

I love this carriage one, it reminds me of Cinderella's ride to the ball! I also like the neat sort of animal print all over the outside.

And for those of you who love shoes, this one comes with a heel and rhinestones galore! (Not to mention the red leather and actual sole on the bag!) 

These two tigers totally blew me away! I particularly love how they have their paws crossed under their chins, and the detailed yellow eyes.

I actually cooed when I saw this. I have a grandmother who adores owls and I instantly thought of her when I saw this. The detail work on this is exquisite- up to and including the ear tufts! Really wonderful.

I don't know why but the snail was one of my favourites! If I bought one, and I was tempted, it may have been the snail. I just think the little antenna are adorable, plus I loved the pattern they chose for its shell. To me the shell makes a perfect carrying compartment because it's the snails home anyway! :D

Pink Poodles anyone? All you'd need is the poodle skirt and you'd have an entire fashion statement going! I particularly love the eye lashes, they give this whole posh, french cafe chic feel. 

The bee had wings that actually lifted up so you could flap them! And both the Indian elephant and the bee had these lovely iridescent eyes. I love them both, the many textures are awesome! And finally last but not least we have:

The Black leather sausage dog, and

The Pug purse, perfect for those who like purse dogs, but are allergic so you can have a dog purse, lol. At first glance you would think this little guy is real!

I loved the pattern of the fabric for the dress of this jewelry display.  The cart girl looked at me like I was crazy when I asked her if I could take a picture.

Quo Summer Safari Collection

Quo has recently released their new summer collection in Shopper's Drug Marts across Canada. Safari themed it's an instant eye catcher with three animal print velvet smooth bronzers, three eyeshadow trios, a golden pink shimmer highlight and a lip gloss in a chic black with gold giraffe print squeeze tube.
What really caught my eye where the three bronzers in Tigeress a lovely rose brown when mixed together but 4 different colours across. Mystic Morocco a more pink with brown and white tints in a Jaguar printand finally Sultry Sudan a giraffe printed bronzer that is varying shades of brown. The nice thing about these bronzers is that there is one for fair (Mystic Morocco), medium (Tigeress) and dark skin tones (Sultry Sudan) and the silver packaging in the animal print with rhinestones is adorable. All three are definitely worth checking out as the colours are not overspray but solid to the bottom of the pan. They each retail at $20 CND.
The three eyeshadow trios each have a blush and gold with rhinestone packaging. They also come in cute names like Egyptian Princess (A light gold and Rose Bronze and dark brown trio with a light almost white highlighter/blush). The other two trios are a Dark blue, lavender, and peach with a pale pink blush; and lastly a light blue, a turquoise and a teal with a medium rose pink blush.
Another item I may go back for is the Body Glow. It's a stunning pink with gold shimmer that comes in a huge container with a pump. The pump is a good one, allowing ease to get just the right amount (something I didn't get with my gold Clinique one nor my Lorac silver illuminator pumps).Here's a swatch! In real life it looks a tad more pink. If you pile it on it will dry down really bright so be sure to blend it in right away! The Body Glow retails for $25 CND. Though I love Quo's normal lipgloss, this one had no indication of colour and I personally can barely stand squeeze tube lipglosses so I didn't test out the colour. Shopper's Drug Mart also doesn't have any kleenexes available to wipe swatches off, and the employees were eyeballing me so I didn't swatch it, but it was $12 CND.
Overall I think the collection is really nice for summer, with a great exotic flair. What are your thoughts?
