Bite Beauty Contour Lip Liner~ Swatches and First Impression

I apologize for the blurriness and boringness of the above photo the display for these guys almost passed me by completely because of this! These new Contour Lip Liners from Bite Beauty retail for $28 CND and I've never seen them before- in fact they aren't even on the Sephora website. I figured I's swatch them anyways and let you see these funky shaped liners.

The inside is slanted and colour-coded 

These come in five shades and seem to be very matte. There is a nice range here, something I think to fit everyone. I had a bit of a crumbling issue when I was applying and had to use a couple swipes to build up the colour for the swatches but I do think these would last a decent amount of time considering how they weren't easy to remove. Not too hard but not easily budged.

Wine is a medium to medium-dark red, Cabernet is a berry- fuchsia, Chestnut is a rose pink with a slight yellow undertone, Nutmeg is a brown nude with a slight pink undertone and Cashew is a brown nude with a slight yellow undertone.

Anyone else seen these before? Any idea why the website doesn't have these up?

A Mudslide of Brown, Gold, and Nude Eyeshadows

*Whew!* That's a ton more browns, nudes and golds than I thought I owned! My favourites are Urban Decay Mushroom, Sellout, Twice Baked, all the Fyrinnae shades, VC Last Unicorn, Too Faced Ever After and Too Faced Heaven, Mac Spectacle of Yourself, Stila Eden, MC Mordred, and Wet n' Wild Brulee.

Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Single in Brulee~ Review and Swatch

Many of you will have heard me rave about this little eyeshadow in the past, Wet n' Wild's Color Icon Eyeshadow Single in Brulee. Let me start off this review by saying this is my HG (Holy Grail) nude shade. That really does give you a good idea of how this review is going to go doesn't it?

Sorry! The corner of the eyeshadow broke, but I'm still using it. I've got quite a bit left despite the fact you can see pan!

Here is my very well loved Brulee single. Brulee is a square about 2cm by 2cm big in a matte nude shade. This means it has no shimmer to it at all. Brulee is the only matte single in the line and really is the  standout shade in my opinion. Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Singles cost $2.99 CND or $1.99 USD (it's amazing how much more expensive everything is in Canada isn't it? Plus in the US Wet n' Wild is often on sale). You get 0.06 oz of product in total.

For reference I'm N10 on the Mac Scale and this is the perfect skin shade for me (the skin around my eyes is just a touch darker than the rest of my face). If I'm in a hurry I use this all over the lid to even out discolouration of my eyelids. Similarly, if I've got a subtle look going on I like to use it as a highlight shade- which really just hides more discolouration. In a pinch I've used it as an under-eye concealer powder and it works fantastic as a shade to blend out darker colours edges, or mistakes. For darker skin girls I think this would make a lovely highlighter shade.

With Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy beneath you can see the colour Brulee turns when it's used wet. It goes just slightly darker. I personally prefer it dry and by itself over my everyday primer TFSI (Too Faced Shadow Insurance) but as you can see it's rather difficult to see on my skin that way.

I personally love the matte texture of this shadow. Really silky smooth, excellent pigmentation and easy to blend. Some people say it's a bit powdery but I don't really mind that in my matte shades as I find this one fantastic and super easy to blend because of the slight powderiness.

Many people have compared this to a couple different Mac matte eyeshadow shades. I've heard it compared to both Brule and Blanc Type from Mac though I think it's a dupe for Blanc Type myself. Plus these are a way better deal price wise in my opinion!

The packaging on these is sturdy and you do get quite a bit of shadow (I've had mine a long time as you can see on the wear of my package in the pictures). There is a slight trick to opening the package without digging your nail into the shadow (you need to open the tab from below and pop it up with your nail), but once you get the hang of it there is no issue. 

This was the shade that convinced me that I need more matte shades in my life as well as more neutral/skintone shades. How subtle and pretty the "nude" or "bare-faced" look can be. 

Overall, I adore this eyeshadow shade. Best colour for my skin, and so many uses! Plus it's super cheap, how can you complain! 

Sprite Rating: 10/10- even though mine broke a bit, I really think that's because it is quite old and doesn't get handled with a ton of care (i.e. it's my fault not the product). Fantastic matte shade that really converted me the the major benefits of not only matte finish eyeshadows but neutral shades in general. 

Would I buy this again? I don't think I can say it enough. YES, Yes, Yes! I can see myself repurchasing over and over! And stocking up if they think of discontinuing this product! I truly think it is a shade everyone needs, especially for the price.

As always Wet n' Wild is a cruelty-free company, though not vegan. As a side note, Nouveau Cheap mentioned lately that Wet n' Wild is planning on releasing a all matte shade palette! How exciting is that! Whoot!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush~ Swatches

Lately the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes have been getting a ton of press because of their high pigmentation, longevity and range of shades. So, I decided while I was in my local Sephora to swatch all the shades for you :D. If you're interested in my review on these blushes you can give it a read here.

There are eight shades in total as can be seen in the first photo, here are the first four.

Top to Bottom: Blushing Bride, Natural Beauty, Flush, Tipsy

Blushing Bride is a beautiful deep plum with a gorgeous super fine sparkle. It's also really pigmented!

Tipsy is a peachy coral shade. It has a bit more of an orange shade to it than blissful in my opinion. Matte texture.

Flush is a bright grape shade. Matte texture and really pigmented as well. 

Natural Beauty is a bright red-raspberry. Also matte and super pigmented.

Amused is a bright blue-based pink (brighter than it appears here), very pigmented as well. Matte.
Blissful is a super lovely pinky-coral shade. This is the one I bought, and I adore the natural flush it gives. Matte texture, and quite pigmented as well.
Exposed is a matte tan shade, perfect for a neutral blush or conturing.
Doll Faced is a light pink. Least pigmented of all the shades but still a decent amount, as all these blushes are full of colour.

One Wet n' Wild Color Icon Shadow Single in my favourite shade Brulee. My personal one has a huge dent in it, I use it all the time as it's the perfect highlight and the perfect shade to even out discolouration on my lids. I even use it as an undereye powder over my concealer sometimes. Even those with darker skintones can use this shade in my humble opinion as it would make a great intermediate blending colour between two darker shades and for brightening the inner eye. A wonderful matte creamy shade with great pigmentation, that doesn't break the bank either. This is from awhile ago, but you can see my first impression of this eyeshadow and swatches on this post here! I'll probably do a full review on this soon.

Joe Fresh is a Canadian Brand that can only be bought at certain drugstores here, and these mini bottles have grabbed the attention of many nail polish fiends in Canada and beyond. This is the newest sensation is this little beauty released for spring. My first flakie polish and named Twilight I love the contrast between the dark base and the gold-green flakes. This bottle is brand new (I bought more than one) so you can enjoy this Canadian exclusive too! My nail of the day and review of this polish is coming next week!

The next prize I haven't bought yet so I've had to use a stock photo. (For some reason I can't find my gloss either! Sheesh!) But if you haven't heard of this gloss yet, it's about you do! This is my favourite of the drugstore glosses I've tried, medium to full pigmentation, SPF 15, smells wonderful and non-sticky! Plus the packaging looks like something from one of the higher end brands such as Estee Lauder. The shade I'll be purchasing for the contest is Life's A Peach really lovely peachy-pink shade with a slight shimmer. In the tube it doesn't look that nice but on the lips it really shows it's potential! An excellent everyday coloured gloss I think would suit many people. A review will most likely pop up about this gloss sometime this month. I have to find my mysteriously missing glosses first lol.

Last but not least is a New York Color Blushable Creme Stick in Big Apple Blush. I adore this cream to powder formula and the pigmentation is fabulous! Pictured above is my blush stick, the winner will of course get a brand new one. You can check out my review of this blush here!

Despite the fact I'm sure most of you have already seen Mac Tartan Tale swatches here are mine from the items I purchased/received from the collection! And what an awesome collection it was!

The Faerie Glen Lipstick

Both of these lipsticks are awesome! Courting Lilac is a Glaze but has quite a bit of pigment to it. It also has a lovely gold sparkle through out it that really adds some depth. It's quickly become my go to purple lipstick to finish off purple looks. The Faerie Glen is just as good in a completely different way. The best nude I've ever found for my complexion, and a Lustre finish. This is a brown based nude which doesn't look that nice swatched or on its own, but when it reacts with the red in my lips I get the most lovely nude. So happy as I truly thought I'd never find a nice subtle lipstick.

6 Beauties Play it Cool Palette

The one thing I wasn't expecting about this palette was how dark all the colours swatched. The only one that doesn't swatch dark is the silver-purple called Silverwear.

The two lighter coloured ones tend to look quite dark on the lid which was surprising (Hold My Gaze, To The Ball) but I do still like the palette, I just need other colour purples to work with it.

Sephora Lip Gloss Wand

Really quick update (major major exam and paper issues, so I apologize for the lack of updates over the next little while). I saw these the other day and thought they were really neat! Sephora Collection Color Wand for Lips. Each lip gloss pot connects to the rest and each has an applicator of it's own and there are three colour sets Nymph, Siren and Muse. Though I've no idea if the gloss is any good, I think for $10 USD it makes a cute gift!

Korres Raspberry Antioxidant Liquid Lipsticks- Swatches

A little while ago Korres, a Greek natural focused make-up and skin care line released their Raspberry Antioxidant Liquid lipsticks. These lip products that are like a mix between a gloss and a lipstick are water based and actually contain both raspberry and pomegranate extracts as antioxidants. If you don't already know antioxidants are widely renown molecules found in richly coloured plants (especially fruit and vegetables) that fight off free-radicals; unstable molecules naturally around us that accelerate aging. These lipsticks are said to harness this to provide softer, smoother, younger looking lips. Korres also excludes parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrance, GMOs, phthalates, and triclosan from the formula. 

In person these lipsticks look beyond lovely. Exactly like juicy, ripe berries. But don't take my word for it, take a look at the swatches!

I can't give a full review as I don't own any (maybe some day! I know I'm really digging 28 Berry) but I know I'd love to give these a try. Keep in mind because they are liquid lipsticks they're most likely to wear quicker- reminiscent of a gloss. If you do get one, let me know how you like it!
