NOTD: Eyeko Rain

Eyeko's Rain is a beautiful grey-blue cream. Almost pastel but not quite. It has the smallest amount of silver shimmer in it, not enough to change it from a cream, in fact it's almost impossible to see but I thought I'd tell you anyways! This colour reminds me of incoming storm clouds and I think it would be the perfect colour for winter and spring (I'm not really digging it for fall at the moment- I prefer darker colours).

I like how cute the bottle is with Big Ben and rain on the label. The full name of the polish is Rain for City Nails, but personally I don't think of rain as being a city only event. Maybe that's just me!
The formula it self was frustrating. It was too thick, it went on patchy, it took three coats and I got a bit of bubbling. I also got streaks in some places (you're looking at the good hand! The other one is almost horrifying!) Thank goodness as it dried it seemed to self-level because this polish otherwise wouldn't cooperate during application. On top of that the polish amount isn't too much (only 8.5 ml) and I found the brush too long to work with easily.

The wear is good though, I'm on my third day and I've got very little tip wear, and only one small chip. Plus the colour is really beautiful.

So, all in all I like the colour. I like the finish but the aggravation makes it so I wouldn't buy another after I run out (if I ever do!). I'm hoping the other shades I've purchased will perform better.

Also something to keep in mind, there are different places to order Eyeko from. Of course it's up to you where you order from (or if you order at all), but I didn't have a good experience with Eyeko's customer service. Just a FYI.

  1. You know...I've been trying to decide if I want to start collecting this brand...but I am really against poor formulas...I wonder if it is just this color or the entire line. Hrmmmm. Thanks for the review!

  2. I'll be sure to let you know! I'm changing my nails this weekend to another colour I ordered so I'll see if it's a continuing trend. I really hope not as I really like the colours of the polishes I ordered. (P.S. thanks for including me on your blog roll! I saw it up yesterday and spend over an hour going through some of your favourites! I had a blast. :D *hug*)
